2004-05-10 - 12:25 p.m. We had a BLAST yesterday at NH S&W. First off, we met up with Terry at her booth (Snowshow Farm Alpacas) and checked in with her. It was still a bit nippy out, with a cool wind, but we then wandered over and checked out the sheep dog trials - one of our favorite things to do! After that, we went and found the barn where a lot of the angora bunny vendors were, so we could meet the new bun, a lovely fawn German X, from Chris Morgan. He was still in full coat, as he had been selected to be the featured animal in a photo shoot that day for Wild Fiber magazine. So, we just said a quick hello to his furriness and let Chris go off to have her picture taken with him. She actually clipped him as part of the photo shoot, so he is now completely bare. He has a wonderful butterscotch color to his fleece - pale caramel with reddish highlights! He is now home here, safe and sound, and getting used to his new batchelor buddies. Pictures to come when he looks a little less naked. We wandered through some of the booths and grabbed some lamb kebabs, which were out of this world! The fried dough kept calling my name since it's been just over a month since I've had ANY processed sugar or ANY carbohydrates, but I restrained myself and got an unsweetened ice tea. It was not the same, I gotta tell ya. I also did pretty well on the fiber purchases and didn't spend too much. I found a couple of pounds of a really nice Montadale in the fleece barn - it was pretty well picked over by Sunday afternoon though. And, I also bought 8 ounces of CVM roving in creamy white and oatmeal colors. I had a great trip - it's a fun venue. Nicely laid out, easy to find stuff, not too crowded or overwhelming. I'm off to Craftsbury tonight for a spin-in... I'm going to try to get back into the swing of going there more regularly, now that the weather is a bit nicer. I just gotta figure out which of the many projects to take to work on........ All for now.
