First off, I must say, Secret Pal - YOU ROCK! I had NO idea they even made "To My Secret Pal" cards, but what total fun to get one from you. What will Hallmark think of next?!? :) It's been gorgeous here for the last 2 days - plenty of sun, highs in the mid 40s - very springlike, I must say, and we have ALL been enjoying it.

I got a little spring cleaning done outside yesterday. Cleaned up around the bunny hutches and cleaned out their drop pans with a diluted bleach solution. I also dragged the little exercise pen I have out into the yard next to the house where there is real honest-to-goodness GREEN GRASS starting to come up, although the rest of the yard is still very dead. Yesterday and today, I gave each of the bunny boys a little "playtime" in the exercise pen. They were quite happy to hop around, sniff the breeze and nibble on a few of the early green grass shoots.

I also was pleased to note that the "Wedgewood Blue" lilac I planted last fall has new growth on it. At my Gram's house, she had 4 HUGE old lilacs planted just underneath the bedroom window where I would sleep when I spent summers there and the fragrance would waft up the house and creep in through the open windows at night - HEAVEN! The Wedgewood Blue cultivar also is supposed to have a lovely scent, although (as you might guess from the name), it's flowers are a bit more blue than purple. We have plans to rake the area of hillside behind it where we cleared some scrubby growth last year, and we'll put in a sort of wildflower area that won't need to be mowed, but will be nice to look at when you stand at the kitchen window doing dishes.

I'm trying hard to make myself focus on finishing my intarsia cardigan. I have only about 25 rows left on the back, and then just the finishing. It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow, and I'm off from work, so I may treat myself to "Under the Tuscan Sun" (only 2.99 on pay-per-view!) and plunk myself down on the sofa to see if I can JUST FINISH IT!

So.. off to spend some more time in the sun with Sydney.
