VERY Cool News!! My SIL, Kate, and her hubby are going to be parents. These two folks are some of my favorite people on the planet.

Kate is a woman of great inner strength (she runs triathalons), great beauty (I won't embarrass her with a copy of the pith-helmet picture - and we won't say more on that) and super kindness (she agreed gracefully to wear a somewhat dorky bridesmaid's dress to be in our wedding). Woody is a dear sweet man, and I know he is going to be the dad on the sidelines or in the audience with the video camera who ALWAYS comes to the kid's sports or art events... probably to the point the child will continually say "DAAAADDDD! You're embarrassing me!" How great will that be?

Two better people I cannot think of to have a child. That said, Dave suggested that I get going on a present for the baby when he/she arrives.... and was instrumental in picking out the pattern and color scheme.

And so, this package of gorgeous yarn arrived on Monday:

It is from the Outer Hebrides, no less, and I'm sure that will tickle Woody's fancy, since he is QUITE the world traveller.

Suffice to say, no full pictures on the blog until the parents-to-be receive their gift, but I will be feverishly working on it until the baby shower.

Congrats to them both!! We couldn't be happier for them.
