WHEW! It's been super busy at this end and I just realized how neglectful I've been of the blog.

News #1: Finally got a vehicle last week. For those who may or may not know, in early January, I demolished our Jeep when I hit black ice on the interstate and flipped the sucker. I was totally and completely fine, but the Jeep was not apparently. The insurance totalled it out, but then we had to wait, and wait, and wait for a check. With that in hand, we found a very nice, slightly used full-size 4WD pickup truck. It has more bells and whistles than we would have ordered on our own, but what the heck!?! - they are already on the truck, so we'll take it! The biggest plus, aside from the 4WD, is a hefty engine and a towing package. As my dad says, I can now fulfill my destiny as Jed Clampett's widow.

2. I think we got the truck and its beefy tires just in time. After brutally cold temps this winter, spring arrived. We had a string of GORGEOUS sunny days with temps above freezing, but it is now raining and all the snow is melting, so we have huge ruts in all the dirt roads with 2 inches of slick, sloppy mud on them. AH! Mud season! It arrived early this year I guess. I'm hoping that temps will just continue to stay pretty warm and we won't have to have another mud season in April. We are losing the snow banks pretty quickly, and you can already see the tips of the field grass peeking out on some of the more exposed hilltops.

3. Bunnies: The buns have been delighted at the warmer weather. They have been basking in the morning sun and lazily munching on their hay. The littlest guy, Pippin, turns one in a week, and Bil turned one in mid-February. They are such sweet little guys. We are adding a young doe to the group as well in a month or two. Another bunny from Chris Morgan's great breeding pairs. She's a little fawn and although she's not going to be bred, I'm looking forward to having a little girl in the group and seeing her personality. They are all such different creatures - like kids, I suppose.

4. On the fiber front, I'm spinning up smaller bits and pieces of my stash - 8 ounces, here and there. I'm in the final stages of the intarsia cardigan that would not die - about halfway up the back of it and all the other pieces are done. I'm making great progress on Dave's Aran sweater (Irish Moss) from Alice Starmore's pattern book and the color is going to look great with his seagreen eyes! Last, but certainly not least, I'm finishing up an easy hat/scarf set out of alpaca for Terry's store and am about halfway through the beaded scarf from my last post. Think that's enough to keep me out of trouble? :)

All for now.......
