After two lovely, sunny days with highs in the upper 20s, winter has returned. We woke up this morning to about 8 inches of the white stuff and it is still lightly snowing. Once it stops, though, I will be off to perform obligatory tractor duty to clear the drive.

I've been busily spinning up various things inside. I finished a big 4-ounce skein of fawn alpaca and angora that came out beautifully. I also spun up another skein in an ongoing project of about 2 pounds of one ply of cafe au lait-colored merino and one ply of a slightly different brown llama for a sweater for Dave. It makes a very subtle and soft heathered yarn. Last night, I pulled out a small 4-ounce bump of hand-dyed wool for socks in periwinkle and purples and filled up a bobbin of that. I'll hopefully get a second bobbin filled and that plied up today.

I have developed a hankering to do some weaving, so I may see if I can get a warp wound for some kitchen towels today. Even though my Schacht is in storage because of lack of space, I do have a table loom on loan from a dear friend, so a set of towels on that would be easy enough to do. There's a pattern from an old Handwoven magazine for some huck lace ones that I think I may try.

Otherwise, hope all had a lovely start to the Celtic spring (Imbolc) which kicked off on Monday. Even with the snow coming down lightly outside, there is less of a nip in the air, so I'm keeping positive thoughts more spring weather is coming!
