Cold and more cold! Boy, did we appreciate the wood stove this weekend. We had to laugh at the weather out of Burlington. The forecaster said it "might go down to -5" as the nighttime low. Too bad it was already down to -18 here when she was telling is that tidbit!

There is a large storm forecast for New England in the next 36 hours, but it looks like we here in the great reaches of the Northeast Kingdom will be spared all but a few inches. Nonetheless, it's been great weather to stay inside by the fire.

I just got back a yummy blend of 70% alpaca and 30% angora (from my bunny Bilbo Baggins). The guys at Wooly Knob did a great job and had it back to me in 2 weeks! So, here the unspun version, soft and fluffy as a cloud:

And here the first ounce or so spun up into singles:

This will be a fingering weight 2-ply and as you can see, already has a lovely halo bloom rising. It should be gorgeous when finished. I've got about 1.5 pounds of gray alpaca and another 8 ounces of gray angora bunny to go out to the Wooly Knob guys next week.

Warm thoughts to all!
