I hope everybody had a wonderful Xmas season. We had a quiet day down in RI with the dog, opened gifts and cooked a great dinner for just the 2 of us.

Dave gifted me with a digital camera, which should substantially speed up my photo uploads. So... just for Lucy, a fellow Tolkien and bunny lover - here are some other pics of my bunnies.

Here's Pippin, after the hobbit Peregrine (nicknamed Pippin):

Pippin is, shall we say, not the bravest of bunnies. Here is he hiding in his "cave", where he tends to drag most of his worldly possessions. His water dish in the winter, or any particularly yummy treats, including dried flowers he finds in his hay.

And... Newman, who came to me already named - he's a retired "stud" bunny, and the (I think I remember right) great-uncle of Pippin. A very, very mellow guy.

On the fiber front, I've gotten a collection of sock yarns together to take on the New Orleans trip coming up in another week. I'm also working on a mindless knitting project - a new hat for Dave - based on the military issue hats for the Lewis and Clark expedition. We are having a dreary, mucky day here after yesterday's snow melt, so it's a perfect day to work inside. Dave is rewiring the garage and I'm off to sit and knit with the cat. We have paella cooking for a pre-New Year's feast.

Life is good. Happy New Year to all!
