2003-12-20 - 5:59 a.m. More snow. The locals are saying this is a "bad year". Now, as I have been saying all along, since I moved here this summer, I KNEW it was going to be perhaps one of the worst winters on record for snowfall. The world revolves around me, right? How could it not. Here's a shot of the mountains from the FIRST snowfall (this one was only 12-14 inches - HAH!)
You can just barely see the ski hills off in the distance. It is absolutely gorgeous; just tiresome to keep moving the stuff around. I'm off to spend Xmas in RI with Dave. Taking the dog with me for a little road trip. Dave already has her gifts set aside for her. Yesterday, I cut a small pine tree down to take with us. We thought it would be fun to have a tree from our own property to decorate this year. (Note to self: Cut down tree in October. When the snow is almost hip height, it is very hard to drag a tree uphill in it.) Official Fiber Content: I finished plying up a multicolored silk and gray alpaca yarn I had been working on. That came out really nicely. I'm thinking about using it for a "She Sells Seashells" scarf/shawl. It has such lovely soft colors, it does remind me of the shells on the coast. I'm currently spinning up some autumn-colors wool roving I got in a trade this fall. I may leave this as singles and try a felted hat with it. I don't know the fiber content, so I'll have to play around with it a bit to see. Still chipping away at the intarsia cardigan - another 15 rows done there, but I'm kind of bogged down on it. Maybe a break over the holidays will get me remotivated. And finally, if you've made it this far in this rambling post: Happy Holidays to All!
