2003-12-09 - 1:14 p.m. Snow, snow and more snow. We got it. About 2-1/2 feet when all was said and done. I kept the tractor busy for 3 days, with about 2 hours a day of plowing and snow removal. We had a lot piled up around the deck, so that had to be moved before the deck could be completely shoveled. I've got pictures of the whole sheebang coming on the next roll of film to be developed. AND FINALLY!!! Pictures of the completed Yule stocking.
My stocking exchange partner, Alice, really liked it. Turns out she is a purple/green-blue person too. Kinda neat how things work out! For those interested in the specifics, it's an adaptation of a Kathryn Alexander design - from "Knitting in America". The leg of the stocking has 3-D peaks and valleys made from the entrelac rectangles worked with the increases on the same side. The top ribbing, heel and toe are knit with Munech Touch Me chenille and the rest of the stocking is knit from small 1-ounce Mountain Colors samples of their wool top I had. I was really psyched about how it turned out, so I was really glad Alice liked it too. Yay! Getting geared up for the holiday season here. Boxes have been shipped and we have snow on the ground, so I guess the winter holidays can begin!
