2003-10-09 - 6:03 a.m. Busy, busy, busy!!!! We had a lovely visit with Dave's mom, although it was a cold and wet weekend while she was here. We actually had the woodstove cranked up most of the time, just to keep the house from feeling too damp and cold. Last weekend, I spent Saturday afternoon demo'ing spinning at the Vermont Sheep and Wool Festival. What fun! Lots of folks stopped by and we had a blast with the kids - to say nothing of the adults. I picked up a gorgeous hand-dyed Icelandic lamb fleece and some silk noils as well. AND! I am very excited - I finally was able to get schedules coordinated and I'm going down to visit (in person) an e-mail buddy who raises Icelandic sheep in southern VT. I'll get to be there for shearing and will help her do some fleece skirting and maybe even have time to talk spinning. I can't wait for that. Hey, and remember how, in my last post, I wondered if winter was too far away? Guess not! The 2nd of October we had our first snowstorm. We only had about a 1/2-inch, but it was still truly snow. Of course, it's supposed to be 70 here this weekend - but I guess that's fall weather for ya. Otherwise, I'm keeping busy with a number of sock projects and a mindless scarf knitting project. I'm also still plugging away on a small amount of hand-dyed silk in grays and roses. Always projects to work on! Blessings - Anne
