2003-09-23 - 4:22 p.m. WOW! Did we get rain today. It was raining when we woke up and just quit a few minutes ago, but it's still blowing off the trees. I had a quiet day inside with the animals. I carded some purple dyed wool for socks to spin and finished up these:
funky fall socks. The picture doesn't quite capture the hand-dyed orange hues. This is 2-ply yarn, 1 of wool and 1 of mohair and they are SUPER soft. I also spun up some Icelandic roving in a dark gray. I think that is going to be used for some winter mittens, lined with felted angora, but I'll think about that design for a while. I'm off to Peacham tomorrow to visit an alpaca farm, and have lunch with the owner, Terry, and maybe help her out with some spinning for the fall sheep and wool festivals. Hopefully it will be a sunny, dry day tomorrow! Blessings!
